The Government Contractor of the Year recognizes companies that have shown a compelling and profound commitment to excellence in financial performance. The SECAF Award of Excellence highlights organizations that represent excellence within their respective communities, the government contracting industry, and towards employees.  The Government Project of the Year is given to a company that has delivered an exemplary program with significant value to the federal government.  Finally, the Small Business Partner of the Year is awarded to a company that has demonstrated its ability to establish and support mentorships, teaming, partnerships, and other beneficial programs for small businesses.

Award winners were selected from a group of finalists in six categories as follows:

  • SECAF Government Contractor of the Year (under $7.5 million in revenue)
  • SECAF Government Contractor of the Year ($7.5 to $15 million in revenue)
  • SECAF Government Contractor of the Year ($15 to $27.5 million in revenue)
  • SECAF Government Contractor of the Year (under $7.5 million in revenue)
  • SECAF Government Contractor of the Year ($7.5 to $15 million in revenue)
  • SECAF Government Contractor of the Year ($15 to $27.5 million in revenue)

RecognizeDC is not your average awards program: Its formula is to drive mentorship, ignite collaboration, and celebrate the movers and shakers of Greater Washington, DC.

About the Program

The GovCon Summit – RecognizeDC Celebration is the premiere fall awards program that recognizes 40 government contracting companies and their contributions to the local economy and the marketplace, as well as their focus on veterans, impact, innovation, and vision to the market. Government contracting is the leading industry for the DMV. The program’s goal is to recognize the meritorious virtues of government contracting companies striving for excellence in their communities through mentorship, economic growth, passion for country in this intricate and ambitious industry. A committee of local business leaders serve on the nomination committee and an independent panel chooses the top 40 candidates.

Award Categories
40 companies will be selected as winners. Ten winners will be named in each of the four categories listed below. Candidates may apply for multiple categories; however, they may win in only one category.

  • Innovative Government Contractor
  • Visionary Government Contractor
  • Veteran Employer Government Contractor

The 2017 Annual Moxie Award theme was “Celebrating Boldness in Business.”

The Moxie Award program honors the accomplishments and achievements of growing businesses, nonprofits, and associations in the DC metro community. Organizations are recognized for having demonstrated boldness and innovation as an integral part of their growth strategy.
